Cast: This action horror with a touch of comedy has an amazing cast; from cult actor Woody Harrelson to few newcomers and rising stars of the silver screen.

Jesse Eisenberg actor known from The Village, The Hunting Party and Adventureland, is playing the role of Columbus.

Woody Harrelson, underground acting superstar, famous for his roles in Natural Born Killers, People vs. Larry Flint, The Messenger, 7 Pounds and Scanner Darkly is here portraying Tallahassee.

Child superstar Abigail Breslin from Little Mrs. Sunshine and My Sister’s Keeper is playing Little Rock.

Amber Heard, a newcomer on Hollywood stage, from The Informers and Pineapple Express is playing 406.

Emma Stone ex Disney Channel star is playing Wichita, and you might remember her from Superbad, The Rocker and The House Bunny.

Plot summary: In Zombieland, we follow a college guy named Columbus, who is travelling to Ohio (to Columbus) to find his parents. In an accident he meets a tough guy called Tallahassee and they decide to travel together for some time. Eventually, these two guys meet two Wichita and Little Rock, two charming sisters who trick them and steal their vehicle and weapons. After bumping into these two ladies again, Columbus makes truce with them and now this funny crew continues travelling together.

Don’t forget that Zombieland is mainly a horror movie, so this is where action begins. Columbus finds out that his hometown is overrun by zombies and decides to skip the visit and stay with his new found friends. Older sister Wichita shares a secret with them, that amusement park in LA “Pacific Playland” is rumoured to be zombie-free and that she will be heading there.

Soon they meet Bill Murray (who has a terrific cameo in Zombieland) and he tells them that they can live among zombies if they pretend to be zombies as well. After spending some time together and bonding, our heroes become friends, Tallahassee tells them his life .

Troubles with zombies become bigger and tension fills every second of the movie. Fight for freedom and against zombies begins, and our solid crew decides to give their best and save each other.

Recommendation: Zombieland is finally (after many failures) a great entertaining, funny and intelligent zombie movie. As refreshing as From Dusk Till Dawn was back in the days, this movie will scare you, make you laugh and admire the great casting and action scenes. Zombieland is the perfect movie for an evening with friends!

Director: Rob Zombie is musician and front man of a popular heavy metal group called White Zombie. Solo or with his band, he has been working on movie soundtracks for more than 15 years. Since 2000, Rob Zombie is developing his movie career as a director, writer and producer. He also directed Halloween in 2007, so it was logical that he will return for the sequel Halloween II in 2009.

Cast: Malcolm McDowell, Golden Globe nominee and legendary Alex from A Clockwork Orange, is one of the busiest actors in the last few decades. This British icon has worked with many important directors and we saw him in a huge variety of genres. He was spectacular in each role. Apart from A Clockwork Orange; you have probably seen him in Royal Flash, The Passage, Mr. Magoo, Heroes, Entourage and many others. In Halloween II Malcolm McDowell is reprising his role from 2007 Halloween.

Sheri Moon Zombie (Rob Zombie’s wife) is former model and has been acting in (mostly) horror films, for last few years, with great success. USA Today named her one of best Scream Queens, two years ago. She had a small part in hit TV series Californication, and you perhaps know her from Halloween part one and Grindhouse.

Tyler Mane, Canadian actor, is a former professional wrestler. He mostly acts in action movies or in horror films, so you probably recognize him from X man, Monk, Red Serpent, Hercules and Troy. In Halloween and Halloween II he is playing main villain – Michael Myers.

Plot summary: In this sequel – Halloween II, Michael Myers is returning to the sleepy town of Haddonfield. He is as dangerous as he always is, disturbed, twisted and creepy. His only goal is to find his baby sister, and finally bring closure to every hurtful secret he can think of, from the past. He starts his next Halloween rampage, determined to kill every person standing between him and his sister. But, this time it will be very hard. Haddonfield has a new hero, a very unlikely one, who can stop the villain and save innocent people from his twisted mind.

Recommendation: Rob Zombie managed to create an excellent horror movie, full of tension and twists, in the manner of best horrors from the 70s and 80s. As he admitted, he was influenced by old school movies of this genre, and wanted to bring the old horror tradition back to the big screen. The fact that legendary Malcolm McDowell is playing in this film, just adds to the value. Original music is excellent (courtesy of Tyler Bates) and main villain is absolutely scary thanks to great mask and Tyler Mane’s great acting. If you are a horror fan don’t miss this movie in cinemas, or even better, make a movie marathon and watch both sequels on DVD, at home!
