“Law Abiding Citizen” is the latest movie by F. Gary Gray, multi talented African American actor, writer and director. This New York born artist started his career working on movies and music videos parallel, and with an equal success.
His early movie works include Hollywood A-list movie stars like Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey (in “The Negotiator”), and popular female artists Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah and Vivica A. Fox (in “Set It Off”). F. Gary Gray directed music videos for R. Kelly, Outcast, Babyface and Ice Cube, establish himself as a talented, successful and critically acclaimed American artist.

This gifted director has gathered Hollywood superstars once again, for his last movie (this year’s highly anticipated feature) “Law Abiding Citizen”. Oscar winning actor Jamie Foxx and super-popular “300” star Gerard Butler are in leading roles guaranteeing action packed, humorous and very intense movie.

Although actors are perhaps top of the tops currently, this movie gained quite unpleasant reviews, because it is very similar to a lot of contemporary US movies, filled with action, tension and “drama” but without sense, or true emotion.

The story follows Clyde Shelton (played by Gerard Butler) who is an inventor from Philly. One night, someone breaks into his house, kills his family and beats him up. Crushed, he only hopes that justice will be served, because killers were caught shortly after the incident. Assistant District Attorney Nick Rice (played by brilliant Jamie Foxx) gets this case, and makes the deal for a 10 years plea bargain for one killer (other one gets death penalty) , although Clyde insisted on stopping that.

10 years later, after the killer is released he soon gets killed, and Clyde sort of admits that he has committed the crime. He ends up behind the bars, but the trouble doesn’t stop there and then a series of murders happens, and it becomes clear that a very smart, well organized and patient man is behind everything, orchestrating the whole crime scene from jail. Nick Rice finally realises that he has a mission to stop that man, before his family becomes a target.

“Law Abiding Citizen” is a quite unrealistic story, about a man who is deeply disappointed in a system, and decides to crash it peace by peace, by targeting all those held responsible for tolerating violence, and having a blind eye for criminals. If you pay attention you will surely find some details which aren’t quite logical, but if you just sit back and relax you might actually enjoy this movie.

Hollywood production today is based on an interesting story, supported by famous, great actors, and filled with special effects, car chases and great production. All mentioned above can be seen in “Law Abiding Citizen” so if you are a fan of new American movie trends, you will find this movie very interesting.

F. Gary Gray’s latest flick is full of action, mind games, tension and drama, so if you love this type of movies, you will certainly enjoy!
