New York born director Peter Billingsley has been a successful part of the Hollywood establishment since his childhood, gaining success both behind in front of a camera. At first, Billingsley was working as a child actor, and later he decided to try his luck and test his skills as a producer and director. So far he was very successful, and was even nominated for prestigious award Emmy (in 2005) for a show “Dinner for Five” (developed for Independent Film Channel).

His new movie “Couples retreat” was written by his favourite actors, friends and long term partners – Jon Favreau, Vince Vaughn and Dana Fox. It is a comedy with hilarious scenes, lot of twists, turns and amazing energy, which can all usually be said for this kind of a movie – romantic, funny, laid back, and packed with A-list movie stars.

Before we reveal the plot, let us mention which Hollywood stars are featured in “Couples Retreat”. Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman and Jon Favreu are in lead roles, and that guarantees great humour and a lot of fun. These actors are friends in real life; they often work together and are literally a synonymous for a good comedy for years now.

Malin Akerman (“The Proposal”, “27 Dresses”, “Watchmen”), Kristen Bell (“Gossip Girl”, “Heroes”) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York from “Sex and the City”) are leading ladies, and you will be glad to hear that French superstar and very charming actor Jean Reno is also part of this movie.

The story follows a married couple – Jason and Cynthia, who decide to visit a beautiful island called The Eden in order to save their marriage. They invite 3 more couples (their dear friends) to join them and have a memorable time on the island together. But, once all couples find out that The Eden will not be just chilling and carefree sun bathing, but mandatory therapy sessions for married couples, their enthusiasm disappears. Actually, they all agree to stay in order to enjoy the beauty and the facilities of the resort, not knowing what these therapies will look like, and who will be their marriage councillor.

Off course, a series of unexpected events occurs, and that is when the real fun (for the viewers) starts. If you love romantic comedies, and admire the work of Vaughn and Favreu (their work is very authentic as well as their humour) this will be a perfect movie for you. Funny, interesting, with great actors and perfect setting “Couples Retreat” is an excellent choice for a romantic evening with the one you love, or even better for a fun girl’s night out. It is a good comedy (Hollywood rarely delivers these) and you shouldn’t miss it!
